Aviation Eyewear Can you afford to be without our Pilot Glasses?
Chicago based company DMS Ventures have released a new range of sun glasses – specifically manufactured for commercial pilots and general aviation use, under the brand name of Mile-High. As with most good aviation sunglasses, the superb quality of our frames and lenses matches those of far more expensive ‘fashion house’ products – and unlike those, we don’t charge separately for the extra lenses.
The all-new Mile High range of sunglasses, are supplied with 4 sets of interchangeable lenses for differing light conditions.
Featuring 100% UVA/UVB protection, these polycarbonate frames feature rubber nose-pieces and side arm inserts, making them very comfortable. The lenses have an anti-scratch coating, and are de-centred, which means the distorting effects experienced with some wrap-around glasses are calibrated out of the curvature. The good news is that the wrap-around styling blocks unwanted light (and wind) from the sides of your vision.
Conforming to British, European and USA safety standards EN1836, ANSI Z80.3, our sunglasses are shatterproof, and offer great protection in the event of an accident. All of our glasses carry the CE compliance mark.
All glasses come with 4 sets of lenses as standard, a cleaning cloth, neck strap, and a superb rugged carrying case with belt clip and individual compartments for storing the extra lenses.
The interchangeable lenses are: Yellow (category 1) low light – these enhance light and contrast; Beige (category 2) average sunlight; Dark grey (category 3), bright conditions; Black (category 4), very bright conditions.
Spectacle wearers will be delighted to learn there is a dedicated option for them, called Mile High Aviate Prescription. This innovative design houses the wearer’s prescription in the back of the frame, with the interchangeable lenses across the front. Unlike clip-ons, the Aviate Prescription look just like a normal pair of sports sunglasses, and they are a lot more robust – plus, you still get the versatile lens options offered with the standard glasses.
